Mr. Asif Lampwala
Mr. Asif Lampwala is a senior partner of our firm and he heads the Litigation practice and has successfully handled numerous high-value disputes in the Supreme Court of India and various High courts in India. He was earlier associated with Advani & Company as a senior partner.
Mr. Lampwala has extensive experience of more than 3 decades in providing strategic advice to foreign businesses on Indian law and regulatory aspects from his time in London and Tokyo when he routinely undertook cross-border mandates.
Mr. Lampwala has been instructed in a breadth of Corporate & Commercial Litigation mandates. He has a special focus on media and entertainment as well as sports-related matters, and has appeared for the Board of Cricket Control in India and the Jockeys Association, amongst others.
Ms Chaiti Desai
Ms Chaiti Desai is a Partner at our firm with over a decade of experience representing prominent clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
Ms Desai began her career at Kanga & Co., focusing on real estate and conveyancing, handling various property transactions and legal documentation. She later joined Advani Law LLP, where she established herself as a specialist in dispute resolution and litigation.
She has successfully managed complex commercial disputes and handled matters under various institutional rules, including ICC, SIAC, and LCIA, representing major corporations in the oil & gas and energy, construction, finance, industrial manufacturing, drilling, technology, and logistics sectors, amongst others. She has also served as a key member in arbitration proceedings in overseas jurisdictions, including representing a manufacturing and trade company in an ICC arbitration in Singapore, and has successfully drafted and negotiated settlement agreements and arbitration clauses tailored to her clients’ strategic needs. Additionally, she has successfully represented clients before the High Court and Supreme Court of India.
Ms Desai has also developed substantial experience in third-party funding for international commercial arbitration cases, where she has assisted clients in securing financing through comprehensive assessments and due diligence reports.
